Why should STEP 2 creams be layered before the 8-in-1 BioSerum?
In addition to stimulating new skin, defensins have an extra beneficial action to "close gaps" between cells on the surface of our skin. It means that defensins prevent water loss from the skin. The 8-in-1 BioSerum contains the highest concentration of defensins, meaning that once the serum is applied, penetration into the skin surface other products will be compromised (if "nothing/water goes out" - then "nothing is goes in"). This is a unique property of defensin molecules, therefore we always advise layering the 8-in-1 BioSerum as the last step of the skincare regimen, only sunscreen and makeup (if any) is recommended to be applied on top of the 8-in-1 BioSerum in the morning and nothing layered on top at night.

The instructions say while face is moist. After washing do i pat dry and leave a little moisture behind? It is difficult for me to gauge how wet my face and neck should be?
The instruction to apply the cream while skin is still moist is mainly to make sure your skin isn't completely bone dry before applying our products or you could potentially apply too much/waste product. There should be enough residual hydration after cleansing your face and patting dry. So, after cleansing, when your skin is still slightly damp, you can gently massage the 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream into your face. However, if you find that your skin needs a bit more moisture to help with ease of application - you can always use a light facial mist before applying the 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream.
What is the % of Niacinamide? Thanks!
While the exact concentrations of ingredients in our formulas are proprietary to DefenAge and can't be disclosed, I can share with you that both the 8-in-1 BioSerum and our 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream contain less than 5% niacinamide.
What order do you use the products in (barrier cream and 8-in-1 serum)? Also can I skip vitamin C serum and hyaluronic acid if I use the 8-in1? How about AHAs?
We have formulated and designed our products to be an all-inclusive routine that helps with anti-aging concerns on a global scale, meaning there is improvement in 5 parameters simultaneously: pores, superficial and deep wrinkles, epidermal thickness, and hyperpigmentation. Therefore, we believe other skincare products are not necessary when you use our simple yet effective routine. However, due to entirely different mechanisms of action, DefenAge's products can be combined with almost any skincare products or ingredients, including vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and AHAs. This is the order for using the products that we recommend: 1. Facial cleanser, morning and evening. Please use any cleanser you like or DefenAge's 1-Step Multi-Cleanse. 2. 2-Minute Reveal Masque, once or twice a week. 3. Any other skincare products that you would like to use (besides sunscreen). 4. 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream on the face, except the skin around eyes; morning and evening. 5. 3D Eye Radiance Cream for the skin around eyes; morning and evening. 6. 6-Week Perfection Neck Cream for the skin of the neck; morning and evening. 7. 8-in-1 BioSerum on the entire face including the skin around eyes; morning and evening. The overall rule is simple, DefenAge's creams and serum should be the last steps in your skincare routine; only sunscreen and makeup should be layered on top of our creams and serum in the morning and nothing layered on top at night.
Does the Face Cream have PDF in it?
Our 24/7 Barrier Balance Cream does not contain SPF. We recommend that you apply a sunscreen in the morning after applying DefenAge products.
