CoQ10

CoQ10 in skincare protects lipids and proteins from oxidation and increases the effectiveness of other antioxidants. Meat, fish, avocado, and vegetable oil are great sources of dietary CoQ10. Levels of this antioxidant in the skin decline with age and UV exposure. CoQ10 is added to fine line-fighting products to preserve skin-cell function and improve skin texture. Coenzyme Q, also known as ubiquinone, is a coenzyme family that is ubiquitous in animals and most bacteria (hence the name ubiquinone). In humans, the most common form is coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinone-10.
